Polycrisis in the Anthropocene: A gathering for a growing research community

PAW

On May 27 and 28, a Cascade Institute-led workshop assembled the rapidly emerging global community of polycrisis researchers and analysts in Potsdam, Germany.

The workshop explored the biggest obstacles and opportunities facing the field of polycrisis analysis—from the underlying causal mechanisms to meaningful action by policymakers.
Several participants presented new research that will be featured in the upcoming Global Sustainability issue, Polycrisis in the Anthropocene, led by the Cascade Institute’s paper, Global Polycrisis: The Causal Mechanisms of Crisis Entanglement.

The workshop will inform the Cascade Institute’s forthcoming roadmap, Polycrisis: Advancing a New Field, as well as other collaborative opportunities for those working across systemic risk, existential risk,  and other related fields.
